        Using the National Death Index to Identify Duplicate Cancer Incident Cases in Florida and New York, 1996–2005

        Map of US states, territories, and metropolitan areas participating in the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) and the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) programs as of 2000. The following states participate in the NPCR: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Puerto Rico, Washington, DC, and the US Pacific Island jurisdictions also participate in the NPCR. The following states participate in the SEER Program: Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, New Mexico, and Utah. The following metropolitan areas participate in the SEER Program: Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco–Oakland, San José–Monterey, and Seattle–Puget Sound. The following states participate in both programs: California, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, and New Jersey.
