        Burden of Disease, Injuries, and Risk Factors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 1990–2010

        The greatest reductions in all-cause mortality were among males aged less than 1 year (51%). Men aged 80 years or older had an increase in mortality (14%). Declines for females were similar to that for males through age 9 years (41%), then reached 9% for women aged 80 years or older.

        Life expectancy increased from 72.5 years to 75.0 years for men and from 76.3 years to 79.9 years for women.

        This figure illustrates the DALYs for age groups 0-6 days, 7–27 days, 28–364 days, 1–4 years, and 5-year age groups through age 80 or older. Road traffic injuries were mostly concentrated in the age groups from 15 through 54 years. Mental disorders were concentrated mostly in the age groups from 15 through 44 years.
