Comparison of Examination-Based and Self-Reported Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease, Washington State, 2006–2007

This figure displays the probability density of weight and height measurements from the WAHS and WA-BRFSS surveys. The distributions of weights and heights are approximately normally distributed. The distribution of weight measurements from WAHS is shifted slightly to the right, toward heavier weights, compared with the self-reported weights from WA-BRFSS. Mean weights were 84.5 and 81.7 kg in WAHS and WA-BRFSS, respectively. The distribution of height measurements from WAHS is shifted to the left, toward shorter heights, compared with the self-reported heights from BRFSS. Mean heights were 1.69 and 1.72 m in WAHS and WA-BRFSS, respectively. Abbreviations: WAHS, Washington Adult Health Survey; WA-BRFSS, Washington State Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.

Figure. Comparison of the distributions of height and weight measurements from WAHS with self-reported heights and weights from WA-BRFSS. The vertical axis displays the probability density of the distributions. Abbreviations: WAHS, Washington Adult Health Survey; WA-BRFSS, Washington State Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.
