1.5 Performance Tips

User selections, the time of day, and the number of other requests being processed will affect WISQARS' response time. Requests using Output Groups require significantly more resources than those that do not. By restricting the age range you may improve response time. 

In the effort to avoid response time delays, the request screen for leading causes of nonfatal injury reports offers direct links to nine precompiled reports, or reports that have already been created and are ready for viewing, of the most commonly requested leading causes of injury reports.

1.6 Printing Tips

 

Although the appearance of information printed from the web varies considerably from user to user, you can make a printed version more useful by considering these tips: 

1. If the information does not conveniently fit on one page, you can decrease the font size. To decrease the font size in your browser,
   Internet Explorer
   1. Click on View.
   2. Select Text Size.
   3. Select Smallest.

   Netscape Navigator

   1. Click on View.
   2. Select Decrease Font.
       
2. When you print, if the information is cut off on the right side of the paper, then you need to tell your printer to use landscape mode (i.e., to print on the paper horizontally rather than vertically).
   Internet Explorer
   1. Click on File.
   2. Select Page Setup.
   3. Select Landscape.

   Netscape Navigator

   1. Click on File.
   2. Select Print.
   3. Select Properties.
   4. Select Landscape.
