Updated weekly from reports to the Influenza Division, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. Since April 26, 2009, a total of 241 influenza-associated pediatric deaths associated with 2009 pandemic influenza A (H1N1) virus infection have been reported. Since August 30, 2009, a total of 221 influenza-associated pediatric deaths occurring during the 2009--10 influenza season have been reported. A total of 130 influenza-associated pediatric death occurring during the 2008-09 influenza season have been reported. * The one measles case reported for the current week was indigenous. ^??? Data for meningococcal disease (all serogroups) are available in Table II. ^§§§ CDC discontinued reporting of individual confirmed and probable cases of novel influenza A (H1N1) viruses infections on July 24, 2009. CDC will report the total number of novel influenza A (H1N1) hospitalizations and deaths weekly on the CDC H1N1 influenza website (http://www.cy118119.com/h1n1flu). ^???In 2008, Q fever acute and chronic reporting categories were recognized as a result of revisions to the Q fever case definition.
