In 2008, Q fever acute and chronic reporting categories were recognized as a result of revisions to the Q fever case definition. According to the figure, reports of giardiasis and legionellosis increased, the latter beyond historical limits. Reports of acute hepatitis A, acute hepatitis B, acute hepatitis C, measles, mumps, pertussis, and meningococcal disease all decreased.
