In 2008, Q fever acute and chronic reporting categories were recognized as a result of revisions to the Q fever case definition. According to the figure, giardiasis, meningococcal disease, and legionellosis all increased, with legionellosis being beyond historical limits. Acute hepatitis A, B, and C; measles; mumps; and pertussis all decreased.
