CDC's National Center for Health Statistics has published
Detailed Diagnoses and Procedures, National Hospital Discharge
Survey, 1989 (1). The report presents statistics on conditions
diagnosed and surgical and nonsurgical procedures performed in
nonfederal, short-stay hospitals. Data are shown by age and sex of
the patient and by geographic region of the hospital.
