        Background

        An agenda for the meeting can be found at http://www.cy118119.com/vaccines/recs/acip/. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) consists of 15 experts in fields associated with immunization who have been selected by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide advice and guidance to the Secretary and the Assistant Secretary for Health, and the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on control of vaccine-preventable diseases.
        The Committee develops written recommendations for???? use of vaccines that are licensed in the United States; considerations include age for vaccine administration, number of doses and dosing interval, safety issues, and precautions and contraindications.

        Special Note a€“ reporters who wish to attend the meeting in person must RSVP to Jamila Jones, in CDC's Division of Public Affairs at jhoward2@cdc.gov by COB on Friday, June 14th. Space is limited, and only those reporters who RSVP will be guaranteed working space during the meeting.
