        Other Adverse Events Reported After
        Smallpox Vaccination Among Civilians

        Other Adverse Event Reports Number of new cases (April 1, 2005- April 30, 2005) Total number of cases (January 24, 2003- April 30, 2005)
        Other serious adverse events reported (events that result in hospitalization, permanent disability, life-threatening illness or death). These events occurred around the time of vaccination, but it is unknown whether they were caused by smallpox vaccine. 1 130
        Other nonserious adverse events reported (include expected self-limited responses to smallpox vaccination (e.g., fatigue, headache, itching, redness and swelling at the vaccination site, swollen and/or sore lymph nodes, fever, muscle aches and chills, and nausea); additional events are temporally associated with smallpox vaccination but are not necessarily caused by vaccination. 10 875
