        CDC Update: Chile anthrax investigation, telebriefing 11/29/01


        Chile anthrax investigation

        The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta today confirmed that an isolate of anthrax sent to CDC for testing from the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Chile is not the same strain of anthrax identified in recent incidents involving contaminated mail. CDC will continue to work with the Ministry of Health in Chile to further characterize the strain.
