Ms. Laurie Beck, MPH, has served as an epidemiologist on the Transportation Safety Team within the Division of Injury Prevention (DIP) at CDC’s Injury Center since 2003. She works to prevent motor vehicle injuries and deaths, with research interests that include safe transportation for older adults and seat belt use. She began her public health career as a contractor for CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, where she focused on surveillance of pregnancy-related behaviors and conditions.

Ms. Beck earned her bachelor of arts in Sociology with a focus on Health in Society from Wake Forest University and a Master of Public Health degree in Behavioral Science and Health Education from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.
